Penggemar serial animasi Star Wars: The Bad Batch di platform Disney Plus kini ramai memberikan pujian atas keputusan berani tim produksi. Hampir dua tahun setelah peristiwa tragis di musim kedua, serial tersebut tetap teguh pada pilihan naratifnya untuk tidak menghidupkan kembali karakter favorit penggemar, Tech.
Tech, salah satu anggota Clone Force 99 yang dikenal dengan kecerdasannya, diceritakan gugur secara heroik dalam sebuah misi penyelamatan di musim kedua. Kematiannya kala itu mengejutkan banyak penonton dan memicu spekulasi.

Menjelang penayangan musim ketiga yang juga menjadi musim terakhir, banyak teori beredar di kalangan penggemar. Mereka meyakini Tech akan kembali dengan plot twist besar, mirip dengan skenario “Winter Soldier” di semesta Marvel, di mana karakter yang dianggap tewas ternyata masih hidup.
Namun, harapan tersebut tidak terwujud. Tech secara definitif tetap dinyatakan tewas, sebuah keputusan yang kini justru menuai apresiasi luas dari komunitas Star Wars. Dalam ringkasan Mureks dari percakapan di Reddit, banyak penggemar mengungkapkan rasa puas mereka terhadap keberanian tim penulis.

He was literally in the middle of a character arc that they just dropped. It was clearly done because there was too much overlap in his and Echo’s roles for the team which made it hard to write action scenes so they had to write one of them out of the story and it couldn’t be Echo since he had already “died” so it would make his return and all the effort spent on it feel pointless, plus he’s a fan favorite.”
